PRESIDENT & CEO

Robin is a distinguished research scientist specializing in coral restoration and restoration ecology. He possesses over thirty years of experience in the design and fabrication of advanced life support systems for corals and in the construction of large-scale coral restoration facilities worldwide. Robin holds the appointment of Associate Research Professor at Arizona State University, based at the Reef to Ridge Restoration Center (3RC) in Kona, Hawai’i. His research focuses on the design and implementation of novel coral-culture systems and technologies to overcome obstacles in the pipeline processes of sexually producing corals at scale. He integrates this infrastructure into experiments designed to engineer and evaluate advanced methodologies for selective breeding, in vitro fertilization, and the extensive mass production of coral larvae to facilitate reef restoration measures at ecologically significant scales.

SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Sanka specializes in designing and developing software systems for automation and data acquisition using LabVIEW™. He began his career in 2005 as a technical specialist at National Instruments (NI) and is now the founder of his own company, which focuses on software development, consultancy, and project-related training. He primarily serves the consumer electronics, automotive, and academic research sectors, extending his expertise to clients such as Panasonic, Vestas, Lego, Jaguar, Land Rover, Infineon, EDMI, and the National University of Singapore. Over his 18+ year career, Sanka has developed more than 100 systems for automated electronics component testing, product functional testing, remote data acquisition, computer vision, and experiment automation, saving thousands of man-hours in the process. Sanka has published research on the design and implementation of NI/LabVIEW™ platforms in industrial aquaculture and recently designed and commissioned state-of-the-art instrumentation, data acquisition, and control software for the Āko’ako’a Coral Nursery Facility in Kona, Hawaii.

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

For structural aspects associated with facility design, fabrication, and installation, Parke is our structural engineering consultant. As President of his own company, Parke has been involved in the design and construction of complex, atypical structures since 1995. Most notably, his company installed the geosphere, Spaceship Earth, the iconic structure of Walt Disney’s Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Kevin is an accomplished electrical engineer with over 20 years of experience in the electrical industry. He specializes in various fields, including complex industrial power and instrumentation automation projects, commercial photovoltaic installations, smart home technology, and auto-transfer backup power systems. Kevin has successfully executed numerous energy management system installations for prominent clients, including Bank of America and several upscale restaurant chains. Most recently, he engineered the design, assembly, and integration of hardware components for the SCADA systems and Programmable Logic Controllers used in the Life Support Systems of the Āko’ako’a Coral Nursery and Roatan Marine Park facilities. His extensive knowledge and commitment to advancing innovative electrical solutions make him a sought-after professional in the field and an integral asset to CEE.

DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS

Bill has over 50 years of experience in heavy equipment operations and logistical planning within the complex construction and civil engineering industries. He plays a pivotal role in guiding projects from inception to completion, overseeing critical aspects of project planning, large equipment requisition and installation, and payload securement. His proficiency extends to managing international freight and transoceanic transport, ensuring that each project is executed with precision and efficiency. 

FIELD TECHNICIAN

Cash is a dynamic and versatile field technician who seamlessly integrates skills across a variety of technical domains. With meticulous attention to detail, he excels at optimizing plumbing systems for peak performance, expertly handling delicate electronic components, welding with precision, and ensuring the seamless integration and operation of equipment and complex systems components.

QC TECHNICIAN

River's comprehension of corals and reef restoration rivals that of the CEO, owing to the countless hours he’s spent in coral nurseries and research laboratories and along on field expeditions from the time he could walk. These experiences have instilled in him a strong work ethic and a principled approach to achieving “above-perfect” results in every task or project. River helped commission both the Coral Innovation Hub and the Coral Restoration Ecology Lab in the USVI and, most recently, the Āko’ako’a Coral Nursery Facility in Hawaii.

ARCHITECT & CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Renee has been leading architectural design and construction management on remote islands around the world since 1998. Specializing in civil engineering and commercial aquaculture projects, Renee skillfully navigates the inherent challenges associated with large-scale construction to ensure optimal functionality while maintaining design aesthetics. A primary focus of her work is to enhance the way individuals interact with the facilities and structures in which they work.
